10 Days Tour - Monasteries of our Lady

Day 1: Arrival at Athens airport – Athens

We will meet you at the airport of Athens. We will have a look at Athens, named in honor of their patron saint - the favorite daughter of Zeus, goddess of wisdom Athena. City tour by bus, where our guide will show you the Parliament, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the Presidential Palace and Kallimarmaro Stadium (Panathinaikon Stadium), where the first modern Olympic Games took place. Visit the fabulous Acropolis New Museum from where you can have a magnificent view of the Parthenon and Erectheum before viewing Athens a top Mars Hill where St. Paul stood and preached the truth to the Gentile nation. Visit also the Acropolis Parthenon and the Agora (ancient market place and centre of Athenian public life). A short walk through the narrow streets of the Old city, the famous Plaka with a multitude of shops and cafes. We will visit the Metropolis Cathedral, where the holy relics of Gregory V the Constantinople Patriarch are, and the small Kapnikarea church. Check in to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Athens - Mandra Attica - Salamina - Nemea - Tripoli

Early morning gather and depart for Mandra Attica, where we will visit one of the finest female monasteries in Greece, Panagia Gorgoepikoos. We continue to Megara where we will take the boat to sail on the beautiful island of Salamina. There we will visit the Monastery of Our Lady Revealed. The monastery is located in the municipality of Salamis Phaneromene into a pine tree forest. We continue to Nemea where you get to know the Monastery of the Virgin of the Rocks. The Monastery of the Dormition Rock Nemea is located almost in the middle hanged a steep and rocky terms. Finally, we arrive at the beautiful and historic city of Tripoli at the hotel of our stay. Day 3: Vytina - Valtesiniko - Virgin Malevi - Leonidion - Sparta

After taking breakfast we depart for the scenic Vitina, where we will worship at the Monastery of Panagia Kernitsa. Day 4: Sparta

After breakfast we will visit the monasteries in the region of Sparta with the miraculous icons of our Lady. Our first stop the Monastery Revealed in Anavriti founded in the late 19th century by Archimandrite Athanasios Ladopoulos. Then we will go from Moni Panagia safe that was found in Paleopanaghia and access to it is from a passable dirt road. Day 5: Valyra - Pyrgos - Vartholomio - Kyllini - Lanthio - Olympia

After breakfast we will follow the scenic route from Sparta to Kalamata via Pyrgos. On our way we will visit the Monastery Voulkanou in Valyra. Day 6: Divri - Kalavryta - Derveni - Akrata - Patras

After taking our breakfast we will depart from Olympia and crossing a unique way to enjoy the beautiful forest Folois and graphical Lampeia to get to Divri, where the Monastery Chrysopigi is. The monastery was built in the 17th century (1667) by Saint Joachim New from Skiada Achaia. We continue to Kalavryta to visit the historical monastery of Agia Lavra. The Monastery of the Great Cave was a beacon of Orthodoxy and fortress against the Turkish conquerors. We continue to Derveni, where we admire in a cave, the church shelters. Then we will go to Aegio where we will worship the church of Virgin Tripiti. Day 7: Patras

Day 8: Nafpaktos - Karpenisi

After breakfast we will depart from Patras through the magnificent bridge Rio-Andirrion will move in Nafpaktos to visit the Monastery of Panagia Varnakova, a Byzantine building of 1077, the fifth oldest in Greece. And then through a wonderful journey, we will go to Prousos and Monastery Prousiotissa. Day 9: Karpenisi - Lamia - Amfiklia - Davlia - Athens

After breakfast we will depart from Karpenisi to visit the Monastery of Agathon. Day 10: Athens - Departure

This morning after our breakfast we depart from our hotel to Athens airport. Departure flight back home.
